The two provided pie charts
present the share of global expenditures and the proportion of population by
continent in the world.
As it is presented in the first
pie chart, overall, the share of money which is spent by global citizens falls
into four main categories, namely food, transport, housing and clothing. Food is responsible for the most significant
contribution of world spending with 24%, followed by transport with 18%. The
proportion of housing is lower than transport but higher than clothing by a
margin of 6%. The remaining 40% is accounted for by a range other categories.
Turning
to the second pie chart, at a glance, Asia ranks first by far when it comes to
number of inhabitants which over half of global population live on the continent
alone. The second most populous continent is America and Eropa. Both of
continents contributed 14% to total population in the world. Africa had the
lowest portion among other continents given while the rest of population which
is merely 5% is allocated to other continents.
IELTS WRITING TASK 2
Nowdays we are producing more and more
rubbish. Why do you think is happening? What can government do to help reduce
the amount of rubbish produced?
The
rapid increase of garbage, which tends to cause more damage to the enviroment
and puts pressure on natural resources, is one of the complex problems in
developing countries such as Indonesia. This problem is a result of a
“throw-away” culture and industrialization.
Specifically,
Indonesian is generally known as consumerist societies which create more waste
day by day due to lack of consciousness of global warming issues. In the other
side, Indonesia is becoming industrialized which causes companies produce more plastic-packaging
to obtain advantages for the lowest possible cost and more durable goods.
Therefore,
government should act immediately to solve the problem by educating the
individual. It does not mean courses at university and training of scholars but
through the massive campaigning for recycling and reusing of waste materials,
and avoiding buying over-packaged products. If it can be implemented as
planned, it will stimulate people to behave greener so that choosing products
with less packaging and converting waste materials into new useful materials will
become Indonesian’s cultural ways of thinking and living. As a result, the
total of trash produced decreases significantly and people can reduce their
spending at the same time.
In
addition, since the packaging is an important part of selling, most of
companies undeniably use non-biodegradable plastic that is hard to be
eliminated. Hence, government should put legal limits on it by increasing a tax
to consumers who buy packaged products. The government must also introduce laws
to limit harmful plastic packaging production and force companies to design
their packaging to be enviromentally friendly.
From
above analysis, to cut back on rubbish produced, educating people and limiting
plastic production by enacting laws are highly recomended for government to
take.
SPEAKING Part 1
Do you have a large family or a small family?
I had a small family in the past which comprises of my
parents, and three sisters. 2 sisters are older and the one is younger than me.
But since both of my older sisters have been married which my oldest sister has
a beautiful daughter while the second one has a handsome son, the number of
members of my family increased significantly so I have a big family now.
Can you tell me something about them?
Ofcourse. My family are all really great. There are many stories
that we made. I have spent my whole life in the love and affection of my family
members with so many sweet memories.
I am inspired by the tremendous amount of work my family puts
in every day and therefore have decided to go for a master in science degree
abroad. Furthermore, I always rely on their suggestions and supports at different
stages of my life and they have never gone wrong on those decisions. I truly
admire them for their precision and visionary thoughts.
Specifically,
My father is hardworker. I have always looked up to him for
his dedication. He has devoted his entire life working for the family and
creating opportunities for his children and the people around. Also, he is so
sociable. He is easily in touch with people so everyone knows him very well.
But my father is impatient. He is very eager for something to happen and not
wanting to wait. For example, He cancelled the meeting with his colleagues
because they were late just less 5 minutes.
My mother is the best one. She plays important roles in my
family. Everytime I need someone’s help, my mother has been there for me. I cannot
even imagine my life without her.
The oldest sister is
a generous girl, not nosy at all. She gave me a motorcycle which it is
really useful for my life.
The second one is a good girl when my family was going
through financial crisis which happened at critical time, and there were no
hopes around, She was the one who took charge and brought the family’s fortune
towards financial stability.
The younger is a diligent woman. I guess she is smarter than
me. I predict she will be the backbone of my family in the future.
How much time do you manage to spend with members of your
family?
Although I am getting really busy thesedays because I have
been working for multi-national company, I still have plenty of time for my
family. After working, I can't wait to get home. Every holiday I tend to stay
at home to enjoy family time. I want to spend most of my time with them. I feel
fortunate every single day to have them by my side.
What sorts of things do you like to do together?
Lots of things. Such as fishing, travelling, and going for
lunch in our garden in my village. But mostly, we like to sit around on comfortable floor in a living room, chat with each other, make a joke and laugh loudly together. I
call it “sharing time” which everyone tells their memorable experience, their
feelings, and their aspirations closely.
Did/Do you get on well with your family?
Of course I do. We've always got on and we hardly ever fall
out. And the most important thing, we need and help each other. I know them
well and see or talk to them very often. It keeps our close relationship.
