To Solve The Ever-Increasing Enviromental Hazards in Indonesia, The Best Way is To Increase The Price of Fuel. What is your opinion on the above assumption?

The activities of human beings in modern life, which is followed by the increasing pollution, such as using private vehicles in their daily activities and building factories as the results of their remarkable developed technologies, are the main factors that cause irreversible damage to earth. If these trend happen continuously, the Earth will be certainly turned into the dangerious living place for humans, animals and plants. Therefore, some people believe that rising the price of fuel is the best way to end the problem, maintaining the balance of life cycle on the Earth for the longets time. Although the opinion may be true, unfortunately, as far as I am concerned, I fully disagree with that.

First of all, it is undeniable that inreasing the price of fuel will lead people to use much less fuel than as usual. People will think twice to drive by their own vehicles and tend to take public transportation. Moreover, it will reduce heavy traffic in city significantly. But in the other side, the consequence of that, new problems will emerge in Indonesia, as developed country, which a large proportion of the population is still leading a poor life and the gap between rich and poor is extremely sharp.

The rising fuel price reveals a domino effect on entire fundamental aspects of the people life. Substantially, it makes poor people much more likely to suffer and insists them on facing the more difficult economic situation while it does not even affect rich people at all. One of the main factors is the price of basic consumer goods will jump up dramatically on the basis of increasing the price of fuel.

Furthermore, the public transportation facilities are not ready yet in order to accomodate many people who change their old habit to go out due to respond the increasing price of fuel. The citizens who live especially in Jakarta will have a very hard and daunting task to go far away because the public transportations that are provided nowadays, are not still well-organized by government.

Thus, to sum up from what I have discussed above, I strongly believe that the best ways to solve the rising enviromental hazards in Indonesia are to make public transportations be comfortable, convenient, fast and inexpensive for everyone and develop advanced technologies that enable people to use fuel effectively and efficiently. Then, there is another alternative that can protect or cover poor people from harmful effect if increasing the fuel cost is the only way to do.
